Getting Started

This page includes an introduction to the LEGO Education CS&AI 11+ kit, and an overview of the Future 8-16 programme. Register to unlock the Lesson Plans and Classroom Presentations. 

LEGO Education are in the process of mapping the programme to the Irish school curriculum. For now, we suggest selecting the UK or US as your location and language: the lesson plans are the same, it's just the curriculum references that change.

Lesson Plans and Classroom Presentations

Sixteen complete one-hour lesson plans, each with teacher notes and a classroom presentation, to guide your team through the season.

Use these resources as input to your own lesson planning: they'll help ensure you cover all the content your team needs to succeed, but there's no requirement to use any or all of the material as provided!

Season Materials

Everything your team needs for the season: build instructions for the Game Models and Team Tools, an Engineering Notebook to record their ideas, details of the Missions, Rules and Roles in the game, and suggested Project Paths for their innovation project.

Coding Canvas

The game can be played using the provided Team Tool builds with no coding needed. Once your team has begun to develop ideas to improve the tools, they can write their own code to control them from a laptop or tablet. 

 

Naming Conventions
You may see different naming conventions being used for LEGO Education Computer Science & AI kits and for FIRST LEGO League Future Edition depending on the intended audience or selected locale. The kits and programme are the same, it's the just the name that varies.

  • LEGO Education 45522 Computer Science & AI 11+ is referred to as Grade 6-8 in the US or Year 7-9 in the UK.
  • FIRST LEGO League Future Edition 8-16 is referred to as Future Edition 3-8 in the US.
